Wealdstone 2 – 0 Marlow

2 - 0

Stones continued their run of results with another home win, 2 – 0 over Marlow.
Stones started brightly, forcing the visitors back early on but a slightly fortunate decision was to give them the lead.
on two minutes, Billy Amarteifio cushioned a header to Charlie Mapes. His long ball seemed to be falling to one of two defenders, but Marvin Morgan nipped in and headed the ball onto Mickie Swaysland. His run into the box was checked by a defender, but as Swaysland fell, the referee awarded Stones a penalty, which Swaysland scored with ease.
Stones dominated the first half from there on but struggled to create good scoring opportunities as shots from Mapes, Ryan, Swaysland and Morgan all caused little consternation in the visiting defence. Marlow though offered very little going forward and an untroubled Andy Carter was restricted to collecting misplaced passes and occasional long shots.
The second half saw Marlow offer more and for long periods they had the better of the possession, Stones limited to breakaways but still creating the better chances.
Danny White, Dave Ryan and Mick Swaysland all went close and then late on Jermaine Beckford missed a half chance from close in.
The visitors created one better chance, as the ball broke from the Stones defence and Sam Shepherds shot was well blocked by Carter for his only real save in the match.
Stones second goal came in the 89th minute, when Beckford placed a ball for Marvin Morgan to run onto and he looped a shot over the goalkeeper and inside the post under a strong challenge from the visiting defender.
