Still a less than full strength Stones side struggled early on against a bright Wembley, but as the first half progressed Stones did come more into the game.
It was all round a far better performance than of late as the Wealdstone side showed a battling quality that had recently been lacking and at times there were flashes of the performances that took them to the top of the table early in the season.
Wembley defended well when they had too, but both sides seemed to lack the guile in the final pass to break down organised opponents in the first half, which again saw little opportunity for either side to score.
The second half started in similar vein, but Stones had the better of the play as the match wore on, camping for long spells in the Wembley half but again without really creating a clear chance, their best efforts saw a Jolly goal disallowed for a push and headers from both Swaysland and Tilbury just wide.
Despite increasing the pressure as the half went on, Stones could not find a way through, and the match finished in a 0-0 draw.

With Joe O’Reagan returning after suspension and new signing Mark Burgess sweeping up behind him, the Stones’ defence looked more comfortable in this local derby, so much so that Wembley were reduced almost entirely to long shots for the whole 90 minutes, their only chance close in fell to Ofori after half an hour, but he headed Hamilton’s left wing cross wide, writes Steve Paull.
Going forward Stones lacked any real craft and seldom troubled the Wembley back line to any degree.
Although a game with a lot more passion than Saturday, so much of it was played on the Stones weaker left flank, especially in the first half where the ball was hoofed out of the ground by both sides on numerous occasions.
Again, getting shots on target was a problem for Wealdstone; it wasn’t until the second half that an easily fielded dribbler from Tommy Williams brought an end to a run of about 150 minutes without one.
Stones had a fair bit of pressure in the second half, and off target shots from Mick Swaysland, Burgess and Carl Hunt, plus Swaysland had a goal ruled out after a foul by Danny Tilbury, but a draw was the right result.
