WFC Supporters Club celebrated their Diamond Anniversary on February 8th
The sold-out evening consisted of a three-course meal, a fascinating talk from Chief Guest and Wealdstone legend Stuart Pearce MBE and a superb comedy set from MC Gary Marshall. Guests supported club funds during the evening with a raffle, a video ‘Hit and Miss’ game that was highly entertaining, plus both live and silent auctions.
A special 60th Anniversary Cake was cut by Stuart during the evening.
The Southern League Shield and Cup (won when Stuart was a player for the Stones) was on view for photo opportunities, taken by Steve Foster. The evening was a remarkable success and ran very smoothly with Terry Hissey, Nick DuGard and Mark Randall planning the evening as an operational committee.
Thanks also need to go to Adam Edwards for helping with the ticket sales and planning, Victor Klarfeld, Mim Goodman, Jez Albert, Paul Fruin, Ian Passey, Roger Slater for a superb programme, Freddie Patmore and many others for all their assistance on the night and in the lead up.
We also wish to thank our special guests Bob Blackman MP and his wife Nicola who took time out of their busy schedule to support the event. Our thanks also to Lynn Evans for providing the catering and Karen for organising the main hall at the Ruislip Social Club. We are very lucky to have these fantastic people at our club without who events like these could not take place.
