Newly promoted National League Wealdstone travelled to the SkyEx Community Stadium to face local Southern League Premier South side Hayes & Yeading United.
The Stones secured their second win of pre-season with an accomplished performance against United. Goals from Trialist O, Danny Parish, Charlee Hughes, Moses Emmanuel and Ross Lafayette propelled the Champions to victory, as Francis Amartey bagged a consolatory brace for the home side.
In an entertaining game, Wealdstone took first blood in the 8th minute of play, as Trialist O coolly slotted home after a fantastic through ball from Trialist P.
A minute later, with a quick fire second, Parish dispatched past United’s ‘keeper to notch his fourth goal of pre-season and double the Stones’ lead.
In the 37th minute, the former Maldon & Tiptree duo, Parish and Hughes, linked up effortlessly, with the latter firing home his second pre-season goal, to treble Wealdstone’s advantage.
Two minutes later, United reduced the deficit through Amartey, as he rounded the Trialist ‘keeper, just before half-time.
During the break, George McLennan replaced Dan Wishart at left back. Manager Dean Brennan then made a further ten changes in the 60th minute to ensure players got vital minutes in their tank.
Striker Emmanuel made an instant impact for the Stones, firing home his third goal of pre-season within five minutes of his introduction.
A spirited Hayes & Yeading United continued to bring the fight to Wealdstone and were rewarded in the 76th minute as Amartey registered his second of the night past Lewis Everett.
However, seven minutes from time, McLennan found talisman Lafayette who produced a trademark classy finish to put the result beyond doubt for the Stones.
