A nervous start from a number of the Stones side allowed Leyton Pennant to take the initiative early on in the game, their best chance coming from a poor throw from Nathan Cobb, but the resulting shot was well wide.

It took Stones a while to get going but as the half developed, Shaw and Swaysland saw shots go wide. The home side became better as the half progressed and finally broke the deadlock on 44 minutes when the visiting keeper only parried a corner, the ball falling to Matrvin Morgan who opened the scoring.

The second half saw Stones dominate for long spells. Tilbury had a shot hit the cross bar and Morgan saw a header kept out in similar fashion. Stones never really got their game going – first match nerves evident from a number of players, but they were never really in trouble. coping well at the back with O Reagan, Tucker and Carvell all performing strongly. Hopefully by Tuesday evening the nerves will have gone and the flowing football of pre season will return.
