Back to football at last and a win to celebrate – as seen by Peter John-Baptiste…..

Yeeeeeeeeeesssssssssssssssssssssssss Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes   Played really well first half and battled for every ball. Went 1 down to a rare error allowing Gilroy to break forward on 43 mins.. New boys looking good and the Martin/Martin defensive partnership looking solid. Upfront John Henry-Hayden looking lively.   Second half against the wind barely got the ball into their half for the 1st 30 mins. Hung on and didn’t concede, then a decision from the Referee changed the match! An obvious throw on to us is given to them. Our bench and players go mad, and from then on, with the help of the subs changing the shape of the side, we galvanise and score 3 goals in the 77th, 80th and 92nd minute.   Fantastic scenes on the terraces and on the pitch. Kevin would have loved it. I’m sure he was watching from somewhere.

For the purists among you, Lee Chappell, Dean Clark and Josh Cooper interchanged some sweet passes as Chappell broke into the visitors box on 77 minutes, his final shot, an effortless sweep past the keeper into the far corner to equalise.

Stones second three minutes later came when John Henry-Hayden chased down a loose ball, their keeper conceding a throw in. Chappell took a long throw that was met bet the foot of Dean Clark and he glanced the ba;l home from 6 yards.

The third goal came when Mackie won the ball and cut inside, his pass through the visitors defence leaving Hayden in space beyond his marker (played onside by the full back out wide apparently) and he coolly ran 25 yards before slotting the ball past Snoddy to cue the celebrations from Stones, and yes, Kev would have loved it.
