| Wealdstone 0-2 Yeovil Town
Ten-man Yeovil Town secured back-to-back victories with an impressive 2-0 win over Wealdstone at Grosvenor Vale, showing resilience to see out the contest despite playing much of the second half with ten men. Goals from Terrell Works and James Daly either side of the break gave the Glovers a deserved advantage, and although Troy Perrett’s dismissal shifted momentum in the hosts’ favour, Yeovil stood firm under pressure to secure an important away victory. Yeovil started brightly despite the cold conditions and were quickly into their stride. Joy Mukena produced an important early block to deny Jack Wells-Morrison, before Dante Baptiste was called into action at the other end to keep out a low effort from James Daly. The Glovers continued to threaten, with Josh Sims firing wide after a neat one-two with Perrett as Yeovil’s pace and movement caused problems for the hosts on a slick surface. Midway through the half, Yeovil thought they had taken the lead when Brett McGavin’s corner found its way directly into the net, but the referee ruled it out for a foul on Baptiste. The breakthrough did arrive on 38 minutes and it was no more than Yeovil deserved. Ryan Jones won possession on the halfway line and drove forward before squaring for Terrell Works, who showed excellent composure to shift the ball under pressure and calmly roll his finish into the bottom-right corner. Half-Time: Wealdstone 0-1 Yeovil Town Yeovil carried their momentum into the second half and doubled their advantage within three minutes of the restart. Josh Sims delivered a well-weighted pass down the right and James Daly did superbly to skip past his defender before finishing confidently beyond Baptiste. However, the game took a turn shortly afterwards as Yeovil were reduced to ten men. Troy Perrett was shown a red card following a challenge on Connor McAvoy, with the referee deeming the contact excessive. The dismissal lifted Wealdstone and the hosts began to apply sustained pressure in search of a way back into the game. Olufela Olomola headed wide from a promising position, while Jed Ward produced an excellent fingertip save to preserve Yeovil’s lead as the pressure increased. Wealdstone continued to push forward during the closing stages and eight minutes of additional time, but Yeovil remained resolute defensively. James Daly nearly added a third late on after rounding Baptiste, only for a recovering defender to make a vital block. The Glovers held firm to secure a deserved victory on the road.
